Feminism is a social movement and ideology that fights for women's political, economic and social rights. Feminists believe that everyone should have equal rights irrespective of their gender.

The word feminism didn't exist for very long, but the fight for gender equality has been going on for centuries. It used to refer to a characteristic, but the term has since been politicized.

Some believe that feminism has no place in today's society, but sadly, women around the world are still in a worse position than men. Therefore, we must continue to educate ourselves about feminism and its development.

Kamla Bhasin a sociologist and feminist who has worked on issues related to gender, media and education for more than 30 years. For empowering the poor in 1972, she participated in "The Food and Organization's Free from Hunger Campaign". She has also conducted training courses and workshops for the empowerment of marginalized women in Southeast Asia. She was a consultant for SANGAT, a feminist network in South Asia. She was also an active member of JAGORI, a resource and training center for women.

What is Fake Feminism or Pseudo Feminism?

Pseudo-feminism suggests that women deserve more respect, or that people of the opposite sex deserve less respect. A few rotten eggs ruin the basket. In this case, pseudo-feminism is a rotten egg that defiles the true meaning of feminism. Pseudo-feminism seeks to eliminate all injustices done to women by attacking and humiliating men. Pseudo-feminists want to create a world where only women rule.

Pseudo-feminists are also referred as "feminazis". These are individuals who don't quite grasp the definition of feminism and who try to spot signs of injustice and violence even when they don't exist. Seeking every opportunity to seek revenge rather than equality, pseudo-feminists have managed to change the definition of promoting gender, but striving for equality over supremacy. All in all, we have matured into the concept of gender equality and given women the opportunities they deserve. We need to, but we don't need people spreading hate and insecurity in the name of feminism. An imperfect interpretation of wrong concepts is therefore dangerous. Half knowledge is more dangerous than mere ignorance.

Zomato Delivery Boy Case

In March 2021, a video of a beauty influencer sobbing and sharing her story of being abused by a Zomato supplier went viral. The Zomato delivery man got mad at her for refusing to take an order that wasn't delivered to her at the appointed time, and he angrily slapped her in the nose. They started posting and trolling the delivery man. The Zomato company acted immediately and the delivery man was suspended. The Zomato delivery man then told his side that the delivery was delayed due to traffic and a woman. Instead of arguing with him, she started hitting him and he pushed her back in self-defense. She made an Instagram video about fake physical abuse by a Zomato delivery man after she was injured with a ring. Beauty influencers played victim cards on social media to gain followers and attention. I can't say that she succeeded in trying to get her attention, but she ruined the career of a decent man who was trying to do her job and earn money for her family. I succeeded.

The boys locker room case

This is one of the most controversial cases of 2020 in which on social media, many feminist came up seeking justices for the girls who were given gang rape threats and filthy comments. Social media was flooded with screenshots of the chats of that particular account. After the police investigation, it was acknowledged that the news was fake and spread by the girl who used the "fake identity of a male and suggested in the chat a plan to sexually assault herself" so she could "check the reaction of the boy and also the strength of his character". This case eventually led to the death of the boy who was under investigation for the case. He committed suicide due to harassment and negatively from fake news, social pressure, and threatening calls from people. This can be what happens thanks to fake feminism, people just believed the one-sided story of a girl, and this is often where it winds up in an exceeding death of a boy.

Difference Between Feminism & Pseudo Feminism

Feminism is about equal rights and opportunities for all irrespective of their sex. Fight for individual rights, regardless of gender. Simply put, no gender should be treated unfairly. But recently a new kind of feminism has emerged called pseudo-feminism. Pseudo-feminists have a deep desire to right all wrongs done to women, often by flogging and humiliating men. But what they have forgotten is the fundamental essence of feminism: equality.

Pseudo-feminists are people who don't fully understand the definition of feminism and who try to find signs of injustice or violence when they don't exist. Pseudo-feminism refers to the dominance of women and the hatred of men. Pseudo-feminism suggests that women deserve more respect, or that people of the opposite sex deserve less respect. Living in a culture where women face many challenges every day is the worst thing some people do to the term feminism. Pseudo-feminists who want to create a world where only women can rule. Few people on social media know anything about feminism and become pseudo-feminists. Feminism is simply freedom, not judgment. People who approve of feminism don't wear feminist badges. The world is going through a significant process in her 21st century, and the definition of humanity is undergoing tremendous changes. This time it's about equality, sexual rights and justice for all. Many pseudo-feminists say men can't be feminists, but you know who a feminist is, a man, woman, or transgender who believes in equality for women.
